Now, the big question is, will Disney release a complete series with bonus material down the road? I have absolutely no insight into any plans to do that, but it would be a way to get fans to rebuy the series (and, no doubt, upset some in the process). When is volume 5 coming? Summary of "Marvel Comic Book Collection Volume 3 - More Great Episodes": Well, another bunch of great episodes (especially the Dark Phoenix saga), but I'll reiterate what I said in my review of volume 1; it's a shame the set doesn't include any bonus material. Over the years I've learned that this is the favorite series for a lot of people, and I know those people would love some featurettes, commentary tracks, or ANYTHING on these DVDs. I just wish Disney put a bit more effort into their animated titles, or licensed them out to someone who would. Don't forget to pick up the fourth volume as well! (read entire review)
Marvel Comic Book Collection Volume 1 - Finally! (4/29/2009)
Summary of "Marvel Comic Book Collection Volume 1 - Finally!": Well, I finally got the chance to watch the famed X-Men series, and I quite enjoyed it. I enjoy shows that build from one episode to another, like X-Men does. I can understand why this was one of the most-requested shows on the site, it's just a shame it took so long to come out. Unfortunately for fans of the show, there aren't any extras on the set at all. Disney owns a ton of animated shows, but they don't like putting extras on the set, which is a shame when you look at the work that BCI did on He-Man, and Shout! Factory continues to include on their sets.
Alright guys, burn the bootlegs because the real thing is here at last. Run and pick it up (along with Volume 2), and hope that we see them continue to release sometime in the next decade (hopefully before the 8th X-Men-themed series is out in theaters). (read entire review)
