Summary of "Volume 3: Prey For The City - What are you, some kind of Wiseguy?": I've said this before, but I really enjoy the story arcs this show has. It allows the characters to fully develop, and it reminds me a lot of The Wire which has one case spread over the entire season. The lack of extras is disappointing with this set; the previous sets contained interviews with some of the cast and crew. I'm surprised the set was put onto 4 discs since the third and fourth discs could have easily been combined onto one.
Wiseguy is a pretty cool show, and I look forward to the next set, hopefully with extras. (read entire review)

Summary of "Volume 2: Mel Profitt/Drug Ring - Only the toes knows...": Many of the problems I addressed with the first set have been improved in the second. They've tried to improve the audio, and there are chapters for each episode, although both of those areas need a bit more work. StudioWorks also lowered the price of the second set from the $69.99 price of the first set (later repriced) to a more reasonable $59.99. Hopefully they can finally get the audio right with the third set and include a chapter after the opening of the show. I'm crossing my fingers. (read entire review)
Volume 1: Sonny Steelgrave & The Mob - Good show, okay set (8/30/2003)
Summary of "Volume 1: Sonny Steelgrave & The Mob - Good show, okay set": I really enjoyed this show. I would compare Wiseguy to a good novel as opposed to a bunch of short stories. The payoff in "No One Gets Out of Here Alive" is a good one because we have hours invested in each of these characters. Sonny Steelgrave isn't just an evil guy, we see Sonny as a normal guy who just happens to be on the other side of the line.
While the show is good, I'm not as impressed with the DVD set. The set carries a SRP of $69.99 for 12 episodes. They cut some corners on the set (no chapters, no subtitles, replaced music, few extras, poor 5.1 track) so I'm left wondering why the price is so high. (read entire review)
