Summary of "Season 2 - Great show!": Damn, this show just keeps getting better and better. The first season was good, but I think this season is a bit better. They take shots at more shows and movies than ever before, and William Shatner/Captain Kirk gets more than normal. There are some clever writers behind this series.
I'd still like to see more bonus materials for these sets; I've love some commentary tracks on the episodes. (read entire review)
Summary of "Season 1 - Hilarious!": This show is freakin' hilarious. I was a tad worried it would be another Futurama (group of people blast around in a space ship), but it's not. I like Futurama, but I don't want another show that is similar. Tripping the Rift is not for kids at all. There isn't any nudity, but there are lots of adult situations; what do you expect when one of the characters is a sex robot?
I enjoyed the show a lot, but the DVD needs some work. The extras on the set are pretty pathetic; they just slapped on some stuff that was kickin' around the office. I was hoping for commentary tracks, maybe a featurette talking about the original short and Sci-Fi picking the series up. The character and art galleries are fine, but they shouldn't be the only things on the set, they should be supporting better materials. There may have been some legal issues regarding the inclusion of the short, but I wanted to see it here as well.
This is a great show, and I'd recommend it to adults that like animation or sci-fi. Buy it for the show, because if you're expecting great bonus features then you'll be disappointed in the release. You can find the original short online fairly easily with Google. (read entire review)
