Summary of "Seasons #1 & #2 - Come on, wussy, buy this DVD": If you've been reading my reviews for the past few years then you probably know that I don't like sitcoms. I think most of them talk down to the audience, and they deliver lame jokes in even lamer situations. Yes, there are exceptions, but when I get a sitcom delivered to my door my first reaction is "ugh!" I'm not an anti-humor TV-watcher, I just don't like sitcoms. Maybe it's the studio setup, and the group of people that laugh so I feel I have to laugh along with them. Titus doesn't feel like a sitcom to me, though they have the audience (and the laughs). The stories told in Titus aren't typical of a sitcom; it doesn't have that "awww...now everything is all right" feeling that makes me want to gag. It's a very dark show, and we laugh out of pity for the characters as often as we're laughing with them. I didn't have a terrible father growing up, and my mom isn't insane (though she's becoming very forgetful), but that doesn't mean I can't point a finger and laugh at....oops....with Chris Titus.
If you hate sitcoms then buy this set. We can hate sitcoms together while we sit down and watch one on DVD. (read entire review)
