Summary of "Season 1 - Good show, good set": This show was great; a lot better than I was expecting. I didn't know how they could make a card game entertaining for me, and how it could hold my attention for 9 episodes. I was sucked in right from the first episode; there were strong characters, an interesting story, and a lot of money at stake. I made it through the set in a couple of days, though I had other stuff to watch as well.
This is a pretty impressive DVD set as well. Disney/ESPN spread the episodes over 3 discs so the quality isn't compromised, and they have some interesting extras on the third disc. After watching the fictional world set in the show, it was nice to watch the 1998 final table.
