Summary of "Season 7 - 'Damn, that was a good show.'": I was quite sad when the final episode was over. This was such a brilliant show, and is probably the highlight of the Star Trek universe. The Next Generation was a great show, but it was an extension of the original series. Deep Space 9 contained a deep story, yet the characters were still rooted in the Star Trek universe. Now that I've finished watching the series on DVD, I can't believe I ever stopped watching when it first aired. I don't think the Star Trek franchise will ever top this series.
As Nana Visitor put it, "Damn, that was a good show." (read entire review)
Summary of "Season 6 - People in looooooove": The most important part of season 6: I finally understand what the "Section 31" is referring to! Although I hadn't seen these episodes before, I knew that Dax died, so that wasn't a huge shock for me, but I really thought Morn was gone for good! I hate to say this, but season 7 has already arrived before I had a chance to post this season 6 review. The good news is that I can jump from season 6 right to 7 without skipping a beat. I can't wait to see how this show ends. (read entire review)
Season 5 - Look out, it's the Klingons! (10/20/2003)
Summary of "Season 5 - Look out, it's the Klingons!": I think "Trials and Tribble-ations" has to be one of the coolest episodes of DS9 ever. The work that went into creating that episode is astounding, and it's so nice to see Paramount include not one, but two featurettes examining the creation of the episode. Given the finale of the fifth season I'm eager to watch the sixth to see where the story is going. (read entire review)
Summary of "Season 4 - Wooohoooo, its WORF!": I just love when a Deep Space 9 set comes out. Each season contains 20 hours of quality television with solid writing and acting. A DVD reviewer can't ask for more. As I sit watching season after season I'm fascinated by the complex stories that they've come up with. Adding Worf and the Klingon threat was extremely enjoyable this season. The tension builds a little more every season, and I can't wait until season 5 is released. (read entire review)
Summary of "Season 3 - Dominion = Bad": This season contains a special episode for me, "Explorers." Before starting TVShowsOnDVD.com I had a few other websites, one of which was a resource site for a 3D program called ElectricImage. ElectricImage was used to create the Bajoran ship that Benjamin and Jake pilot into Cardassian space, and it was used in the company's demo reel for a number of years. The episode brings my past website and a current website together.
I have to say that with season passing season I'm enjoying this show more and more. "The Next Generation" had The Borg, but The Dominion seems much worse. You could always see The Borg coming, but the Dominion will sneak up on you and catch you off guard. The final lines of "The Adversary" prove how much of a threat they truly are.
Summary of "Season 2 - Even Better...": I've always thought that the Star Trek series' takes place in one of the most thought out sci-fi universes, and the plot of "Crossover" drawing on the episode "Mirror, Mirror" from the original series just proves that. Watching TV this good is a rare treat. I look forward to the further adventures of the DS9 crew when season three hits store shelves on June 3. I heard from a reliable source that the station might be getting some new crew. (read entire review)
Season 1 - The beginning of great things... (3/03/2003)
Summary of "Season 1 - The beginning of great things...": I will always think of Avery Brooks as "Hawk," the character he played in Spencer: For Hire and the spinoff "A Man Called Hawk." He spoke little and carried a big gun; quite different from his character on Deep Space Nine.
A few of the characters from The Next Generation show up on DS9 in the first season. Among them are Q (John de Lancie), Vash (Jennifer Hetrick), Lwaxana Troi (Majel Barrett) and members of the Enterprise crew in the first episode.
While the first season of the series is entertaining, it's really just filler until the "good stuff" later on. (read entire review)
