Summary of "The Complete 2nd Season - Hello, again.": It's nice to see Warner continue releasing the show on DVD. I'll admit to being a bit worried that the first season of this classic show wouldn't sell well enough for Warner to continue to release it, or it could be pushed off to Manufacture on Demand (MOD). I'm glad the fans stepped up and supported the first season, and I hope they step up again and buy season 2. Remember, every sale of a DVD is a vote for the next season to be released. If you like watching this show, and you want to continue to buy it, you have to get out and buy this DVD set.
If you enjoyed season 1, then you'll enjoy season 2. It's the same quality of the first, both in terms of the show, and the DVD set. It's not enough for me to cross my fingers and hope we see a season 3 set, so I'm going to buy my mom a set (she loved the show), and I'll suggest other people I know pick up sets as well. Season 3? I hope so! (read entire review)
The Complete 1st Season - Great 80s Spy Show (3/11/2010)
Summary of "The Complete 1st Season - Great 80s Spy Show": I had the pleasure of meeting Bruce Boxleitner at Comic Con a few years ago. He was there to promote the direct-to-DVD Babylon 5 release, and I ran into him at a party Warner had for 300. He's extremely nice, and we had a great conversation about TV-on-DVD, and his desire to get Scarecrow out for the fans. He said, "Who do I talk to about that?" and I pointed him in the direction of the Warner execs who handle TV-on-DVD titles, and he spent about 10 minutes pleading his case for the show. Meeting an actor can always be hit-or-miss, but fans of Scarecrow should know that Mr. Boxleitner was a super nice guy when I had the chance to meet him.
I had a lot of fun watching Scarecrowfor the first time again. 80s shows can come off as very cheesy, but Scarecrow really holds up. Sure, it's dated in terms of some stories (the Russians are evil), but it's still a really fun spy show, and one I'd recommend. It's a bit of a bummer that there aren't any extras, but considering how long it's taken to get this out, I think fans will just be happy to own the show. (read entire review)
