Summary of "Season 8 (uncensored) - Same ol' Bullshit": Well, Showtime continues to release great shows, and frustrating DVDs. Still have stereo audio by default, and they still have an annoying ad that can't be skipped (on both discs). The standard nearly every other studio uses is to put trailers on the first disc, and that's all, but hey, this is Showtime, they like doing things differently over there.
I enjoyed the season, though I think some of the topics they cover are getting a bit silly. I enjoyed the bonus episodes of Episodes, a show I haven't seen yet, and one that isn't on DVD either. (read entire review)
Season 7 (uncensored) - Gotta love all the B.S. (5/14/2010)
Summary of "Season 7 (uncensored) - Gotta love all the B.S.": Bullshit continues to provide funny, and sometimes informative episodes. They don't present a balanced view of a subject, but then again they don't pretend to be balanced; you know where they stand on a subject within the first minute or so. I'm always surprised when I look at an episode title and think "that sounds really boring," only to discover that's one of my favorite episodes. Then there are the episodes I know I'll enjoy, such as "Video Games," which features the biggest douchbag in the video game industry, the disbarred lawyer Jack Thompson. It was a great episode.
Following in the footsteps of the show, this DVD release has a bit of controversy as well; the episode "The Vatican" has been left off the set. Why was this done? Well, one could assume that the church had something to do with it. As one reader pointed out to me, the episode information is also completely removed from Sho.com, the official Showtime website. Denying an episode ever existed? Well... that's Bullshit! (read entire review)
Summary of "Season 6 (uncensored) - I call B.S.!": About the only thing that's changed since I watched the DVDs of season 2 is the packaging. They still have a stereo track as the default and they still don't have a chapter immediately following the (long) opening. The show is the same - funny, one-sided and worth watching.
I'd like to shout-out to Jim Benson, a friend, and host of the TV Time Machine, who appeared in "The Good Old' Days." Unfortunately for Jim he was on the wrong side of P&T line, and they picked on him a bit (a lot). Jim's a good-natured guy, and he knew going in that he'd probably be made fun of, but he still went for it. What-a-guy! (read entire review)
Season 2 (uncensored) - A Whole Lotta Bullshit! (2/05/2005)
Summary of "Season 2 (uncensored) - A Whole Lotta Bullshit!": I have no doubt that you'll be at least slightly offended by at least one of the episodes, and if you're a PETA supporter then you'll be really offended. They make great points in every episode, and they do it in such a wonderful style. If you're not a fan of swearing then you'll want to stay away from the series; Penn is a fan of Fuck, and he finds a way to integrate it into almost anything. It's darn entertaining, and I'll watch the show as long as they keep producing it; it's fuckin' great! (read entire review)
Season 1 (uncensored) - I love these guys! (3/27/2004)
Summary of "Season 1 (uncensored) - I love these guys!": This show drove me crazy because as far as I know we don't even get it in Canada. To make matters worse, Sho.com blocks all non-US traffic, so I couldn't even visit the official site (at least not easily). It seemed as though I had to wait for ages for this show to come out, but it was worth it. While Penn & Teller are just the hosts of the show, they bring their witty attitudes to something that could be a lot less entertaining. If you're a skeptic, or someone that believes in these things then you need to watch this show.
Note: There are censored and uncensored versions of this set. No doubt all the good parts would be missing on the censored version. This review was done with the uncensored set. (read entire review)
