Summary of "Season 2 - More of the same": There's little difference between the quality of the first and second seasons on DVD, which is why most of this review is the same as the review for season 1. The episodes are entertaining, but they lack the excitement and energy of the original series. Steed is great, but Purdy doesn't compare to the female characters from the original, and Gambit just seems to be added weight.

Summary of "Season 1 - The new guy": While I had never seen an episode of The New Avengers before sitting down to view this set, I thought the show lacked a little bit of the original. Maybe it's because Steed plays less of a role, or maybe it's the third character being in the series, but something is lacking. However, the show is entertaining and I enjoyed watching it. I wish there were more extras, but I guess you work with what you have access to with these older shows. (read entire review)
