Summary of "The 1st Season - Hello, LA!": Want to know how much I enjoyed this show? I was watching 6-12 episodes per sitting (and yes, my eyes hurt a bit after 12 episodes in a row). I haven't seen many movies with Chris O'Donnell, but I've enjoyed him in the ones I've watched, and LL Cool J is great as well. Their characters work well, and provide a nice balance of action and humor. That can be applied to the entire show as well; there are serious moments, action=packed moments, and funny moments. One thing about the show that absolutely drives me crazy, is the quick photos that appear before and after the commercial breaks. I hate spoilers, and I don't want to know what's coming up in the episode. I kept closing my eyes when they popped up just so I could avoid seeing what was coming later in the episode.
I thought the bonus material for the set was quite good, though it bothered me that it was only SD, not HD. I decided to quickly poll my followers on Twitter (@TVDVDGord), and discovered no one shared my view. They said the most important thing was how the episodes looked (which I completely agree with), and that the bonus material doesn't have to look as good as the episodes themselves. Obviously there will be some that want the bonus material to be in HD as well, but the message from Twitter was pretty clear, "doesn't matter to me."
Whether you watch the original series, or not, NCIS: Los Angeles is a great show, and one Id recommend checking out. (read entire review)
