Summary of "Season 1 - Great show!": I'm certainly kicking myself for not watching the show before now; it's great! This is everything that Canadian TV lacked in the 80s and 90s; solid writing, solid acting, and high production values. The show is wonderful, and should appeal to those that enjoy a solid mystery. Sure, parallels can be drawn to Sherlock Holmes, though I'd say a show like C.S.I. would be better. Murdoch relies on science, and procedure more than superior intellect or observational skills, often employing groundbreaking new techniques, such as "finger marks." I also enjoyed the nods given to things we know are coming in the future (a reference to Wheel of Fortune, as example).
I'm impressed by Acorn Media in certain aspects of the set, and frustrated by others. The audio and video is great, though I'm disappointed there wasn't a chapter set after the opening credits. I'm frustrated by the photo gallery, as it's useless to have small photos, and stretching them is ridiculous. Overall it's a decent set for an exceptional show, and definitely worth checking it out.
The best part about delaying watching a great show? I have season 2 to watch, and season 3 should arrive any day. (read entire review)
