Summary of "Season 2 - It's still awesome!": Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant TV. Neil Cross has written some of my favorite British TV (The Fixer, Spooks), and he continues to amaze me with his writing in Luther. Sure, some of it is a bit far-fetched, but it's still amazing drama. I've gotten so many people hooked on this show, and I really hope that we see a third season of the show.
If you haven't seen Luther before, go out and pick up the first season. It's a bit crazy that they've only produced 10 episodes in two seasons, but they'll likely be some of the best television you've watched. (read entire review)
Summary of "Season 1 - Excellent series!": The show exceeded my high expectations, and left me extremely upset that we won't see any more episodes until the fall when BBC airs two, 2-hour episodes. It's a brilliant series, and it's a show that examines the police genre in a way I haven't seen done before. The broken cop has been tried, but this is a new take on the character; it's wonderful.
I strongly recommend picking this up. While it's not the most feature-packed release, the show itself is definitely worth watching. I also appreciated a little nod to a US-series in one of the episodes; be on the lookout for it (though I'm not going to tell you the show referenced, or even the episode the reference is in).
