Summary of "Season 2 - Bring on the clown!": Oh man, this season seemed better than season 1, probably because the writers and actors had a year to work with each other and hit their stride. Homey is still the funniest character, with Fire Marshall Bill a close second. Oh, I can't forget the "Men on..." sketches, or the "Hey Mon" ones either. Wait...the butt-head characters are great too, and the "Homeboy Shopping Network." Hmm...I think I like most of the recurring characters on the show.
Season 2 is better than the first; more bonus features and a higher quality show. If you're a fan of the show then you should pick this up. (read entire review)
Summary of "Season 1 - Homey rocks!": While I can't say I liked every sketch, I found many of them funny. Homey the Clown was easily my favorite, as well as the "Men on..." series of sketches. It was great to see the early work of so many funny people, especially Jim Carrey and Damon Wayans, who also appeared on Saturday Night Live before ILC. IMDB reports that a Homey the Clown movie is in the works from Fox, but it appears the movie may be stalled.
I have to admit I was surprised that there weren't interviews with any of the Wayans' on the set. I wasn't expecting them to snag Jim Carrey for an interview, but this was Keenen Ivory Wayans' show, and it starred most of his family. I assume Fox contacted them, so I'd have to guess that they didn't want to be involved for some reason, or wanted money.
I enjoyed watching the first season of the show, even if I didn't always understand the punch-line of the sketch. (read entire review)
