Summary of "Season 1 - It's a big world for Little People": Most people can't relate to the problems the Roloff's face, but I think I can grasp some of the issues, though I have the opposite problems they do; I'm 6'8". I find shopping for clothes very difficult, driving a car can be a pain, and while I don't hear "hey midget," or shorty, I've been called "beanpole," "stretch" and numerous other names. I guess I have more in common with little people than one would expect.
I'm not a fan of the cardboard packaging used for this release. The discs slide into sleeves which could cause them to be scratched if a piece of debris is present. I prefer the packaging with hubs, where minimal contact is made with the disc.
I enjoyed watching this set, not only for the episodes, but also because it's one of the few Genius Products titles I've seen. Genius has been around for a few years, but it's only recently that they've jumped into the TV-on-DVD genre, and this is one of the first titles released under their new distribution deal with Discovery/TLC/Animal Planet. They've hired some good talent to head up their titles, nabbing one of the top people over at Sony to oversee the releases (though this was done after this release was in the works). I look forward to checking out future Genius/Discovery/TLC releases, including the second season of Little People, Big World, whenever it's released. (read entire review)
