Summary of "Season 4 - Where's your watch?": I'm sad to see Mickey (Adrian Lesser) leave the show, but the show must go on. Sure, he was a big part of the series, but he didn't make the entire show, and this season shows that you can lose a cast member, make some changes, and still deliver the same quality entertainment that fans have relied on for 3 seasons. The opening episode with the trip to LA was brilliant, and the season finale was a lot of fun. I can't wait to see where they take the show in season 5... assuming there is one. (read entire review)
Summary of "Season 3 - The con is back": I was a bit shocked when I opened my copy of Hustle - it was missing disc 1! It was the first time I've had a missing disc, and I just stared at the empty hub in disbelief, then checked the package again and again, as if it was hidden somewhere. It took a bit of time to get another set with disc 1, so I apologize for the delayed review.
It's nearly impossible to figure out the con while watching the episode, but pay close enough attention and you can spot some clues. I think I've become fairly good at spotting the clues given - it's usually something small that you can pass off as being insignificant until they return to it at the end, when they reveal how the con was played.
I really enjoy watching this show; it's stylish, funny, and it's always nice to see bad people getting taken for some money. I assume we'll see the fourth series sometime in 2008; it's already aired overseas. (read entire review)
Summary of "Season 2 - Can you be conned?": Season 2 seemed a lot better than season 1. The cons were better, the plans more elaborate, and I always found myself laughing at the end of the episode. There are so many little twists in each episode, and the writers hold back one or two things so we never know exactly what's going on. It's fun because the viewer usually knows more than the characters in the show, but that isn't the case with Hustle. Let's hope BBC has plans to Hustle season three to DVD; season 4 starts up in March, at least across the pond. (read entire review)
Summary of "Season 1 - Watch your wallet": Hustle doesn't live up to MI-5/Spooks, but it's hard to beat the best British show (just my opinion, of course). The outcome of each episode is pretty much known from the start, but the journey is full of surprises. The show has the same "feel" as MI-5/Spooks - nice editing, cool camera angles, and expensive-looking production values. Season 2 is coming out in February, so we don't have to wait long to see what trouble these five get into next. (read entire review)
