Summary of "The Complete 2nd Season - I loooove this show": Ahh, it happened again - completely addicted! I was watching a couple of discs a day, while still doing regular things like eating and leaving the house. I was tweeting about my addiction to the series, which brought on both cheers and jeers from my followers, but I have no problem admitting I really enjoy this show. I don't know what it is about teen dramas, but they always get me.
This is another solid release, with decent featurettes, deleted scenes, a funny gag reel, and an audio book. I've never been a fan of audio books, but I'm sure lots of people appreciate this feature on the DVD set. I'd love a commentary track or two on the next set. (read entire review)

Summary of "The Complete 1st Season - My new favorite drug": Wow, this show is addictive! I woke up at 5 am on Sunday morning to take my girlfriend to the airport, so I planned to head to bed early, but I made the mistake of sitting down to watch the first episode of Gossip Girl. 4 episodes later, at 1 am, I finally shut the TV off and climbed into bed. I didn't really want to be in bed, I wanted to start disc 2. 48 hours later I was done the series, having watched multiple discs a day, and I loved every minute of it. If you can get past the 20-year olds playing teenagers (which is true for all "teen dramas"), then you'll find a show with interesting characters, and good stories.
The featurettes on this DVD set are really great, with the best being "The Beginning" piece. I started to listen to the audio book, but I was bored after a few minutes. I've never been a big fan of audio books though, so it reflects more on my taste than anything to do with the production.
I realize it's a year away, but I want season 2 on DVD NOW! I wouldn't be able to handle waiting week to week for new episodes to air, so I'll just have to pretend the show doesn't exist until the season 2 set arrives in 2009. XOXO. (read entire review)
