Summary of "The Complete Season 12 - Woohoo, Extras!":
I really enjoyed the Botswana special that's on disc 4. I love when the guys are put in extremely strange and wacky situations, and Botswana was definitely a strange and wacky situation! Driving across somewhat hardened ooze? Of course a lot of entertainment comes from the arguments the hosts get into. I don't think they could ever agree which car is best-suited for a certain scenario, and that's part of the fun of the series.

I enjoy watching the "Stars in a reasonably priced car" segment, but I rarely actually know who the people are, so it was nice to see Mark Wahlberg appear in an episode. Besides being a "gearhead," he's had quite a history with cars, something he mentioned during the segment.

It's nice to see some extras on a Top Gear set, and they aren't fluff pieces either. I still think it would be a good idea to profile the cars from the episodes, just a short 1 or 2 screen piece outlining the specs and price would be easy enough to do, and interesting to read.

Alright BBC, bring on seasons 13 and 14 (please)! (read entire review)

Summary of "The Complete Season 11 - This Car Got Clipped!":
I think one of my favorite segments in Top Gear would have to be "Stars in a Reasonably Priced Car," so I was extremely pleased to see Rupert Penry-Jones and Peter Firth from Spooks/MI-5 (only my favorite spy show ever) appear on the show. They posted decent times, and looked like they had a lot of fun doing it.

I'm not sure what to say about the missing footage from these episodes, other than it sucks, especially since BBC addressed the previous complaints and said there wouldn't be cuts in these episodes.

Luckily we don't have to wait for the next season, as it's coming out on the same day as season 11. Yippee!!

P.S. The new BBC logo at the start of the DVDs is cool. (read entire review)

Summary of "The Complete Season 10 - Zoom, Zoom":
What a brilliant show! I love the banter between the hosts, and how cinematic they've made the show look. The British know how to spice up reality TV shows (has anyone seen the British version of The Apprentice? Twice as good as the US version) with beautiful cutaways and wonderfully framed shots. Once scene that stood out in my mind had Jeremy standing on a revolving platform talking about a car as it drove in circles. The result was a "talking" scene that became more interesting because of the way it was presented. Brilliant!

The challenges the three undergo are interesting, and I enjoy the "star in a reasonably priced car" segments. Hopefully this is the first of many Top Gear DVD releases. While I'm not a car guy, I can say I had a great time watching this DVD. (read entire review)
