Summary of "The Complete 1st Season - No Need to Yell, Jay": I went through a slightly different process for this review. Instead of being at home, watching it on my big screen TV, I was on the road. You see, I recently got married (in November), and my wife and I just took our honeymoon. Disney sent the DVD to my hotel in LA (the first stop on our trip), and I watched them in LA, on a couple of planes, and then in Jamaica. Knowing that things look (and sound) differently on my laptop, I rewatched the first disc on my TV after returning home. And for those of you who will ask "why on Earth did you watch a TV show on your honeymoon?," I'll say that 1) I love my job, and 2) we were on a number of flights, and some days had a bit of time to kill (hey, it was 2.5 weeks).
I have mixed feelings on this show. It was entertaining, but it was also a bit tedious at times. The whole "I hate my ex" thing was run into the ground after just a few episodes. I'm also curious as to why Jay Mohr yells nearly every line he delivers. Sure, yell when you're angry, but he seemed to be yelling everything, and it wore on me. Sure, I watched all the episodes (some of them more than once), but I didn't really get into the show.
Disney has done a decent job with this set, providing consumers with decent bonus material, and good quality episodes. I'll check out season 2 whenever it's released, and this time I'll watch it at home. (read entire review)
