Summary of "Bender's Big Score - Welcome back, Futurama": "Bender's Big Score" plays out like one long episode of Futurama, which is a good thing for fans of the show. I don't mean "one long episode" to imply that it's boring, I mean the movie has all the humor of an episode, and nothing is lost moving from 22 minutes to nearly an hour and a half.
I'm looking forward to the next Futurama movie, whenever that is. (read entire review)
Summary of "Volume 4 - Bye-bye Futurama": I enjoyed Futurama, and I'm bummed that it's over. While I didn't enjoy it as much as The Simpsons, I was entertained every time I sat down to watch an episode. This set includes some great episodes, including "Where no Fan Has Gone," a wonderful episode that features almost the entire Star Trek cast. I wasn't able to catch many of the episodes in this set, so most of them were new to me. I think it went out on a good note; "The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings" was a great episode. Summary of "Volume 3 - It's almost over ": I still miss Futurama on the Fox schedule, but at least it can live on in these wonderful DVD sets. Every time one of these sets is released I marvel at the thought that goes into the packaging - it's just so good. I wish every cartoon release could contain the quality found here - from the commentaries on every episode, bonus features and wonderful audio and video, I think Futurama sets should be used as a template for other releases.
Only 1 more set to go and all the episodes will be on DVD. (read entire review)
Summary of "Volume 2 - Bender rocks!": I tell ya, Fox does an incredible job with these Futurama sets. I don't think I've seen a nicer looking animated show on DVD. Pause the DVD and you're treated to a picture that looks as though it were painted on your TV. It's just so darn good! These sets have some of the nicest packaging I've seen (see my rant about these in the review of set 1) and are loaded with extras. Wow!
Summary of "Volume 1 - Awesome Packaging!": Like I said before, I've never seen a cartoon look this good. It's a shame the show has been cancelled, but at least we're getting it on DVD. I'd highly recommend you pick up this great set from Fox and now I can't wait for Family Guy which comes out in April. (read entire review)
