Summary of "The Complete 1st Season - Fat Actress gets a fat DVD set": What a crazy show. It's hard not to draw a comparison to Curb Your Enthusiasm. Both shows appear to be "reality-based," but are fictional. They both star people playing different versions of themselves, and their friends appear in the episodes.
The DVD set for this was announced shortly after the show premiered, so Showtime must have been impressed by it. I found it funny, but it's a bit hard to laugh at all the fat jokes, even if Kirstie Alley is okay with it. I found it hard to believe that Brenda Hampton was behind this show, especially since she's the creative force behind 7th Heaven! There are a few guest spots in the first season of the series, so keep your eyes open for John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Jeff Zucker, Mark Curry, Kid Rock, Carmen Electra, Melissa Gilbert, Mayim Bialik, Kevin Nealon, Leah Remini, Wallace Shawn, Larry King, Bill Smitrovich, Merv Griffin and Rhea Perlman.
Fat Actress is a funny show, and this is a decent DVD set. I'm looking forward to the next season. (read entire review)
