Summary of "The Complete 1st Season - An old favorite": I want to bring something up for fans of this show so it can avoid the fate of many previous 80s shows; if you don't buy this set, the show will be dead on DVD. Why do I sound so negative? There have been many casualties when it comes to 80s sitcoms, mostly due to poor sales of the sets. Is this because people don't care about the shows, or is it because they care about them, but figure they'll pick them up at a later date? Studios track sales of the DVD sets from the release date, and if they aren't what they expect, then future season sets could be put on hold. If you want this show to continue be released on DVD, buy this set, and let your friends know it's out. The future of this show being released on DVD rests with you, and this is true with EVERY DVD release.
Now that the depressing stuff is out of the way, I had a lot of fun returning to this show. I don't remember any of the episodes (hey, it's been a long time!), so it was as though everything was new for me, though I remembered all the characters. I have no problem with the lack of bonus material, as that just adds to the cost of the set, and increases the numbers needed to make this a success.
