Summary of "Season 6, Vol. 1 - It's a season set!": I hope fans of the show go out and buy this set and send a message to Nick that we want season sets of the series. I'm not sure how I feel about the new character, but I know how I feel about a season set - thumbs up! (read entire review)
Summary of "Fairy Idol - Where's Simon?": I think this is the shortest Fairly OddParents release yet; the others have been nearly 1:30. At least this release doesn't duplicate anything that's already been put out on DVD (Nickelodeon likes doing that). (read entire review)
Jimmy Timmy Power Hour 2 - Jimmy and Timmy = Fun! (4/19/2006)
Summary of "Jimmy Timmy Power Hour 2 - Jimmy and Timmy = Fun!": I enjoyed this disc, at least the parts I hadn't already seen. Seriously Nick, get it together. Stop including stuff we've already seen on these sets; it's annoying, and devalues the set in the eyes of the consumer. There are tons of cartoons to choose from, so please stop doubling them up. Scary GodParents - It's not scary, it's fun! (9/14/2005)
Summary of "Scary GodParents - It's not scary, it's fun!": I had already seen the feature episode, "Scary GodParents," on the Nicktoon: Halloween release from two years ago, but I still enjoyed this release. I hope one day we'll see season sets, or something that appeals to the older viewer; these random episodes, especially ones that have been released in other formats, are annoying. Summary of "School's Out! The Musical - Go Timmy!": I'm not a fan of musical's at all, but I was able to stomach "School's Out," probably because I enjoy the show. Had I not been a fan, this would have been hard to get through. The songs are fun, and fairly short.
I swear I end every Fairly OddParents with the same wish; I wish they would release season sets of this show. (read entire review)
Summary of "Nick Picks Vol 1 - I pick Nick": It seems as though Nickelodeon continues to release discs that collect a few episodes of their shows, but they're always renaming the released. This is "Nick Picks Vol 1," but will there be a "Vol 2"? If you've been collecting all the Nick releases then this one has 3 new episodes on it; "Information Stuporhighway," "Bitter Reunions" and "Hostile Makeover." This is a fun disc if you don't mind some possible duplication. (read entire review)
Timmy's Top Wishes - Fairly Odd Indeed (1/29/2005)
Summary of "Timmy's Top Wishes - Fairly Odd Indeed": I still hold out hope that one day we'll see a season set of the show, but for now I'll settle for these themed releases. Since these are Hatman's favorite episodes I was hoping he would introduce them and explain why they were selected, but alas, nothing like that is on the disc. It's an enjoyable way to spend 82 minutes, and I'll look forward to the next release. (read entire review)
Summary of "Channel Chasers - Cool TV episode": Yup, yup, I like this show! I don't know whether it's the way it's drawn, or the stories, but I can't get enough of The Fairly OddParents! I loved all the TV references in "Channel Chasers." I think I could pick out all the references, most from 60s and 70s cartoons. I wonder if the kids watching the episode could pick up on them as well, or if it was aimed at the adults.
Canadians won't be able to find this in stores; it's US only. (read entire review)
Jimmy Timmy Power Hour - Jimmy, meet Timmy, Timmy, meet Jimmy (5/18/2004)
Summary of "Jimmy Timmy Power Hour - Jimmy, meet Timmy, Timmy, meet Jimmy": I really enjoyed this disc, it's just too bad Canadians won't be able to find it locally. Because of some licensing agreements The Fairly OddParents DVDs can't be sold in Canada, which means fans of Jimmy Neutron will miss out as well. The episodes on this are fun, even if the extras are boring. (read entire review)
Superhero Spectacle - Wanda and Cosmo rule! (1/28/2004)
Summary of "Superhero Spectacle - Wanda and Cosmo rule!": The other day I had a horrible day at work. Nothing seemed to go right, and I left the office drained of energy. When I got home I discovered The Fairly OddParents waiting for me and all my problems went away. I love this cartoon because it's so simple and funny, and because you never know what will happen. The plot leaves them the ability to do nearly anything, since two of the main characters can grant almost any wish. It's a brilliant premise, and I love it. Hopefully this show will see a season set release like SpongeBob got late last year. Out of all the Nickelodeon shows, I'd have to think that this one carries the largest adult audience, second to SpongeBob of course.
I should also point out to my fellow Canadians that this release isn't available in our country. If you want it you'll have to bring it in from the States. (read entire review)
Summary of "NickToons: Christmas - It's Christmas!": These holiday-themed discs are nice for parents, but also for consumers not familiar with all the cartoons. While I've seen every SpongeBob disc that's been released, I've only caught a few episodes of The Fairly OddParents and I want more, more, more! Please Nick, release some The Fairly OddParents DVDs for me. Pretty please. (read entire review)
Summary of "NickToons: Halloween - Spooky Stories": While not every episode is about Halloween, these 6 episodes are entertaining. I'm really interested in checking out some other episodes of The Fairly OddParents. If you're looking for a Halloween themed disc, or just want to check out a few different Nick shows, this is the perfect disc for you. (read entire review)
