Summary of "Season 1 - An educational Spike show!": I was semi-interested in the show before I sat down to watch it, but now I'm a fan. It's a wonderful mix of science, technology, weapons and violence, and I can't imagine many guys not getting excited over it (and remember, men are the viewers Spike TV is going after). I really enjoyed the way the warriors were presented, and the information given on the weapons. It has the information you'd expect from a History Channel show, with the entertainment of a Spike TV show.
Though the bonus material is all repurposed web content, I'm glad they included it on the DVD set. One thing I would have liked to see is the alternate battle, the one where the loser in the simulations was filmed as winning. They mention that there were two outcomes shot for each battle so they could keep the winner a secret until broadcast - that would have made for excellent bonus material.
The second season is already underway, and this time they'll have 13 episodes instead of 9. Definitely worth checking out the show, and this DVD set. (read entire review)
