Summary of "The Complete Season 1 - Pssst....wanna see a magic trick?": This is a cool show. Criss has a presence on screen, and in person. He's engaging and polite, and it's a lot of fun watching him perform. I watched the first 4 episodes when they aired, but then I forgot about the show (oops), so it was nice to "catch up" with this DVD.
The A&E party was great; Criss walked around and mingled with people while performing some illusions. I was drinking and talking so I only caught a couple of them, but the illusions are impressive. I watched him pull a thread out of his eye, and saw him warp a fork he got from behind the bar. That's a cool trick, and one that can be done at almost any party. I heard that he had a lady think of an address, then he read her mind and told her the address. She was so freaked out that she left the party.
I'm a bit bothered by the missing episodes. I didn't see them, so I can't say exactly what they were, but they sound like a special (Halloween), and two wrap-up shows featuring information about the illusions, and unseen footage. I'm going to guess that they were produced later than the other episodes and might not have been done in time for the DVD set. Remember, this has been on A&E.com since 11/29, so the set was probably produced 2 or 3 months beforehand.
If you like illusions then you'll really dig this show. There's also a bunch of bonus material on the set; something that isn't that common with A&E titles. (read entire review)
