Summary of "20th Season Anniversary Edition - Bad boys, bad boys...": I've always been interested in police work, though I never wanted to be a cop. When I was 18 I volunteered with the Edmonton Police Service, and gained a better understanding about what officers do, and the situations they're faced with. I also had the opportunity to go on a ride-a-long, and let me tell you, I'll never forget it. Officers never know what they're going to be faced with, and so I had no idea what to expect. Our night started out with a vehicle accident, then we went to a "sudden death" (someone had passed away), then to interview someone about a stolen computer, then to pick up the suspect and take him to jail. Grabbed some food (Chinese, not donuts), followed by breaking up a disturbance on a road, then busting up some teenagers enjoying themselves in a parked car, and ending the night by tracking down a suspect who smashed a window in a store and stole some cigarettes, and I watched as the police dog was unleashed (and the kid messed himself). It was an interesting night!
This DVD set almost has it all. The episodes were good, and I enjoyed the highlights from the various years, the featurettes, and the parodies/tributes, but I really, really wanted to see interviews with the cameramen! Who are these crazy people that run with cameras and manage to capture these insane moments? I want to hear their stories, since they're the ones providing us with this look into police work.
I had a blast watching this, and I think I'll add COPS to the list of shows I record to my PVR. (read entire review)
Summary of "Shots Fired - Bang, Bang - Zap, Zap": Out of the three Cops DVDs, this one is the best by far. When there are shots fired there's a level of tension that you can't get in any other situation. This DVD also has some of the best uncensored footage - I quite enjoyed the "Moving Violations" bit. Hopefully we'll see more DVDs like this soon because this is one entertaining show. Everyone knows how much I like cop shows; well, you can't be the real thing! (read entire review)
Summary of "Caught In The Act - Dummies - Busted!": Watching this show one would assume that Forth Worth, Texas has one of two things: high crime, or too many cops. It seems like they're always following a Forth Worth officer in every episodes, and sure enough there are Forth Worth clips on the DVD. If they end up doing some other discs I'd love to see a featurette featuring some of the cameramen from the show. (read entire review)
Summary of "Bad Girls - Very bad girls!": I wish this disc was longer; with over 500 episodes I'd imagine there are a few more "bad girl" clips they could have included. I'd be surprised to see a season set for the series, but I wouldn't mind more discs like this (but double the content). Don't forget to pick up the other 2 discs, or just buy the 3 discs packaged together. (read entire review)
