Summary of "Season 1 - Great Show!": Friday was extremely, extremely cold here in Edmonton, AB, so I was really looking forward to not going outside at all and just spending the day watching TV; that's exactly what I did. Disc 1 was watched before lunch, and disc 2 watched just after lunch. This is a very quick season to burn through, especially because the show is extremely funny, and entertaining, and it's a lot better than I was expecting. The whole R&D angle provides a lot of interesting, and hilarious, storylines, and the characters are wonderful. One of my favorite characters is "Phil," played by Jonathan Slavin. I loved Slavin as "Byron" in Andy Richter Controls the Universe, and I love him in this as well.
While I absolutely love the show, the DVD release isn't one of Fox's best efforts. It's been a long time since I can recall a current Fox show being released to DVD with absolutely no bonus material at all, but this has none. I would have loved to see some gag reel footage, or heard a couple of commentary tracks, but there's nothing. This was also initially up for sale on Blu-ray at Amazon, then pulled. I don't know if Fox thinks this won't sell so they didn't provide a budget for bonus material, or whether they didn't have time to put anything together. Whatever the case, this is a wonderful show that will have to be purchased on its merits alone, as that's all you're getting.
I'd suggest picking this up - I'm about to watch a couple episodes for a second time, it's that good. (read entire review)
