Summary of "The Complete 1st Season - Go Batman!": I complained about the lack of a season set in my reviews of the volumes, so someone must have been listening (to me, and all the other consumers that prefer season sets). I prefer to sit down and watch more than 3 episodes, especially when the show is so entertaining. It's nice to see that Warner Bros included the extras from the previous volumes; at least now people that own those can give them away or sell them without feeling like they're losing anything, though the extras are a tad lame.
The other day we posted news courtesy of "The World's Finest" that the second season will be released on September 19. Hopefully that turns out to be true! (read entire review)
Season 1, Vol. 2: The Man Who Would Be Bat - Batman rocks (10/28/2005)
Summary of "Season 1, Vol. 2: The Man Who Would Be Bat - Batman rocks": I... want... season... sets... (please). I love watching these discs, but 3 episodes doesn't cut it for me; I want a few hours of Batman kickin' ass! I really need to check out the Batman vs. Dracula release that came out earlier this week; I bet it's awesome.
Warner hasn't announced when volume 3 will be released, but hopefully we hear something soon. (read entire review)
Season 1, Vol. 1: Training For Power - Nice cartoon! (6/20/2005)
Summary of "Season 1, Vol. 1: Training For Power - Nice cartoon!": It's a shame this isn't a season set; Warner prefers to do single volume releases for many of their animated titles. They've already announced the second volume, "The Man Who Would Be Bat," for release on September 20, which will contain episodes 4, 5 and 6 from season 1. At least they're releasing them in order.
The show was great, but the extras on the set are pretty....lame. I've never been a fan of the featurettes that try to weave a story with interviews; just interview the people and give us the information. The stretched animation was interesting as well; I wonder why it was supposed to be widescreen. I'll look forward to the next volume, but 3 episodes of a show like this is just teasing me.
