Summary of "Season 2 - Great Set!": This is the first time I've watched an ADV release in a season set, and the extras are daunting! There's so much material on these discs that it's hard to keep track of it all, so I was appreciative of the listings on the back of each disc. They've taken care of the consumer, that's for sure. There are over 3 hours of interviews, over 12 minutes of bloopers, and almost 15 minutes of delete/alternate takes on the set, which is more than any other set I can think of off the top of my head.
Summary of "Vol 2.1 - Bye Bye Magog.": In the past week I've watched Deep Space 9, Babylon 5, Stargate SG-1 and now Andromeda. I can honestly say that nothing beats a good sci-fi show. Andromeda can be both funny and serious in the same episode, and I love the characters in the show. The combination of decent storylines and wonderful special effects keeps me coming back for more. Summary of "Vol 1.5 - Magogs!!": Ahh...this is such a good show and I hate how the season finale ended. Now I'm really looking forward to the next release of the series to see how it ends. I'm also interested in the extras that ADV Films has planed for the next sets. Quite a few of the extras in the first season will have run out (Glossary, character bios...). The next set will also be available in single disc releases as well as a double-disc set like the first season releases. (read entire review)
Summary of "Vol 1.4 - Gerentex = bad": Andromeda is now one of my most anticipated "TV on DVD" releases. Just look at the extras above and try to think of something that's missing. Now add in near-perfect video (anamorphic widescreen to boot), and a nice audio track, and you have yourself one fine DVD release. There's a reason we named Andromea 1.1 one of the top releases for 2002; it was a great release and ADV keeps continuing the quality of the first set. The next release, 1.5, will be the final season one set, then it's on to season 2! (read entire review)
Summary of "Vol 1.3 - Nice!": Andromeda is one of my most anticipated "TV on DVD" releases. Just look at the extras above and try to think of something that's missing. Now add in near-perfect video (anamorphic widescreen to boot), and a nice audio track, and you have yourself one fine DVD release. There's a reason we named Andromea 1.1 one of the top releases for 2002; it was a great release and ADV has continued the quality with this set. (read entire review)
Vol 1.2 - Want to touch my forcelance? (10/17/2002)
Summary of "Vol 1.2 - Want to touch my forcelance?": Andromeda has quickly become one of my most anticipated "TV on DVD" releases. ADV Films has put together two amazing releases so far, and I don't expect that to change. Just look at the extras above and try and think of something that's missing. Now add in near-perfect video (anamorphic widescreen to boot) and an excellent stereo track and you have yourself one fine DVD release. If you've never seen "Andromeda", please go and rent the first set. Chances are you'll go out and buy that one, and this one, then you'll send me an email thanking me for recommending it. Summary of "Vol 1.1 - Hercules, in Space?": While I may have been wrong in thinking "Andromeda" was going to be another cheesy syndicated Sci-Fi show, I know I'm right when I recommend you pick up this set. These first 5 episodes set up what looks to be a great series, and ADV Films has lovingly produced a great set. Packed with interesting extras and anamorphic video, you won't be disappointed if you pick this one up. Looks like I'll have to wait until October when "Andromeda 1.2" should be released. I can't wait! (read entire review)
