Summary of "Season 8 - The '70s are over, bring on the '80s!": Fans of the show will notice one "episode" has been omitted from the set; "That '70s Show: The Final Goodbye," a special that aired a week before the final episodes. I'm not sure why it was left off the set, but I can almost guarantee it'll be included in a "complete series set" if one is ever made (and no, I haven't heard of any plans for Fox to release a complete series set for the show).
I stopped watching That '70s Show after season 6, so these episodes were all new to me. Randy, the new guy, didn't annoy me at all, and I didn't miss Eric or Kelso, who was only in the first few episodes of the season. The show was as funny as before, just without a couple of main characters. The bonus material on the set is entertaining, especially the tour and the retrospective.
I'll miss the show, but I like knowing that I can watch any episode I want on DVD. Alright, anyone else want That '80s Show on DVD? (read entire review)
Summary of "Season 4 - Poor Eric": Fox has been consistently improving the sets for That '70s Show, but it appears they won't be able to top the season 3 set. That set included 6 commentary tracks, TV spots, a look at the third season, and intros to many of the episodes by the cast members. Season 4 contains a few different features, the "70s Flashbacks" and a short interview with David Trainer, but the intros, which were my favorite part of the third season set, are gone.
This was another great season, though the heart-broken Eric may disagree with me. I can't remember when I stopped watching this show; it may have been the end of season 5, or 6 season, I can't remember.
Hopefully we'll see another set before the end of the year. (read entire review)
Summary of "Season 3 - Nice set": This season has some great episodes! "Dine & Dash" has been a favorite of mine since it was broadcast, and "Romantic Weekend" is quite good as well, but my favorite of the season is "Too Old to Trick or Treat, Too Young to Die." The episode is a homage to a half-dozen (or so) Alfred Hitchcock movies, and it's done in a great way. I was happy to see they recorded commentary for the episode as well.
Fox improved the season 2 set over season 1, and now they've improved the third season over the second by including more commentary tracks, TV promos and intros by the cast members. It's unfortunate Topher Grace and Ashton Kutcher couldn't be included, but they aren't in the seventh season (which is when the bonus material was filmed; I don't know why Laura Prepon is absent.
This is one of my favorite sitcoms, and I had a blast watching the episodes again. I can't wait to see what Fox has in store for season 4. (read entire review)
Summary of "Season 2 - Hanging out....": I've been sick with the flu for the past few days, and That 70s Show was just what I needed. They say laughter is the best medicine, and I have to admit I felt a bit better after watching a few discs of the show. I haven't seen these episodes in ages, but they're as good now as they were when they first aired. Two of my favorite characters debuted in season 2; Leo, Hyde's boss, and Pastor Dave (Kevin McDonald from Kids in the Hall). I love those two characters!
I was a lot more impressed with this set than season 1. Season 1 seemed a bit skimpy with the extras, but Fox stepped it up for season 2. David Trainer provided some wonderful commentaries on three episodes as well as an interview, and there are behind-the-scenes clips for 6 episodes. I think the packaging artwork is better as well.
You can't go wrong with this set. It's a great show, and this is a decent DVD release. Bring on season 3! (read entire review)
