Not a show about Terrorists by Gord Lacey (All reviews)
Looking at the packaging for the set I assumed this was either a show about terrorist training camps, or a mailman that delivers mail in the frozen North, and must protect his face from the cold. No... neither of those is an accurate description of the show, though you wouldn't learn that from the box since there's no description at all on the back. This is a faux-reality show about a man, "Jon," who is in the witness protection program.
I hadn't heard about this show before, but I decided to check it out, since I'm a huge fan of terrorist shows. I was a bit disappointed to find out it's not a terrorist show, but I decided to watch it anyway.

The show is presented in Anamorphic Widescreen (1.78:1), and looks fairly decent. I'm assuming they're using video cameras for this, as there's a bit of noise in the picture (mostly during dark scenes), but it looks exactly the same as a "real" reality show does. I like that they've placed a chapter that allows me to quickly skip the opening and "previously on." The blurred video for the original airings is blurred on this set as well.
There's an English Dolby Digital 5.1 track on this release, but it's overkill for what's needed, and isn't utilized well. The rear speakers are hardly used, and when they are, it's only for some music. I found the dialog to be easy to understand, and there are optional English subtitles, or burned-in subtitles for the non-English portions. Audio is censored on this release as well.
There are two commentary tracks to listen to:
Pilot - Jon Glaser
Mole - Jon Glaser and John Lee
Deleted Scenes (9:29)
There are 10 deleted scenes on disc 2. You can play them individually, or use the "play all" option.
16 outtakes, which can be played on their own, or using the "play all" option.
Flip Books (1:01)
Two flip books in this section.
Relocated Demo (3:37)
An early look at the show.
This is a decent DVD set for fans of the show - there are a couple of commentary tracks, lots of outtakes, some deleted scenes, and a couple of extras I'd classify as "other." I'm going to be honest here and say that this isn't really a show for me, but I'm glad fans have a decent set..
