This is NOT funny!

All Leslie ever wanted was his dad's approval. So when his father passed away and left him the family grocery store in Ohio, Leslie took over the reins. Of course, the staff of Greens & Grains isn't exactly the brightest. Then again, neither is Leslie. But together they're bravely taking on masked robberts, skating elves, beef on the hoof, unwilling virgins, the mega-mart next door, and cleanups on aisle five. Daddy would be proud.
I had never heard of this show before, but I was looking forward to watching a new single-camera comedy. This 2-disc set includes the first season (5 episodes) and the second season (8 episodes) of this hit TBS series.

Disc 1 (1:50:48)
The New Boss (22:10)
The Miracle Worker (22:10)
Health Insurance (22:10)
What Women Want (22:08)
Bag It (22:10)

Disc 2 (2:57:32)
Dollar Day (22:12)
Forever Young (22:10)
To Heir is Human (22:10)
First Time (22:12)
The Bromance (22:12)
Amy Strikes Back (22:11)
Illegal Alien (22:13)
The Ren Fair (22:12)

Video

The show looks good on DVD, sporting an Anamorphic Widescreen (1.78:1) picture. There aren't any major problems, just some minor grain in a couple of scenes. There's a "play all" feature, and a chapter after the opening of the episode.

Audio

The first season includes an English stereo track, and the second season is a Dolby Digital 5.1 track. The tracks are a bit quiet, and the 5.1 isn't really put to good use (the rear speakers are hardly used). The episodes are closed captioned.

Coffee Break - Blooper Reel (1:44)
This is a blooper reel? A "Blooper" implies a line is messed up, but this is just random stuff that happened off camera.

Summary

I thought this was a comedy? I made it through 8 episodes before I shut this off, and I didn't laugh or crack a smile once. This is probably the least-funny comedy I've seen in years. Seriously, this is a hit on TBS? Wow, that says a lot about the network. The BLOOPER REEL isn't even funny!!

If you're a fan of the show (seriously?) then feel free to pick this up, but if you've never seen the show before then it's probably wise to keep it that way. I tried to give this show a shot, but it's just not my thing at all. Not at all.
