The X-Files - The Ultimate Collection. No, this is not the same thing as the Region 2 release of "the complete collection", which only consisted of the nine seasons of the show in a crate-looking box. 20th Century Fox has announced
The Ultimate Collection for release on
November 6th, and online retailers are beginning to list it, including TVShowsOnDVD's affiliate
DVDEmpire.com. They are pre-selling this for $260.68, which is a lot but the package has a list price of $329.98 (CA$419.98 SRP in Canada). We've got the scoop on the contents:
- X-Files Complete Season 1
- X-Files Complete Season 2
- X-Files Complete Season 3
- X-Files Complete Season 4
- X-Files Complete Season 5
- X-Files Complete Season 6
- X-Files Complete Season 7
- X-Files Complete Season 8
- X-Files Complete Season 9
- X-Files Fight The Future (widescreen)
- Threads Of The Mythology
- Abduction
- Black Oil
- Colonization
- Super Soldiers
This is one of many super-set "complete series" TV-on-DVD collections coming to stores for this coming holiday season (including, but not limited to,
I Love Lucy, Full House, Everybody Loves Raymond, Gilmore Girls, The O.C., Twin Peaks, Miami Vice, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Angel, MacGyver, Stargate SG-1, Chappelle's Show, Queer As Folk, Benny Hill, and even
The Addams Family...we'll post news about the last item later on today).
Stay tuned and we'll have bigger package art and any further details we can investigate. Our thanks to "Melissa" for letting us know about DVDEmpire's listing.
Don't forget,
TV Guide's Summer Sci-Fi Savings promotion is still on - save an additional 5% off some of your favorite sci-fi shows (though unfortunately not
The X-Files).
