Last November, when The X-Files - Season 8
arrived on DVD, we reported
about the insert card which said to expect The Complete 9th Season
in the Spring 2004 timeframe.
Hmmmm...we just talked
about those insert cards, didn't we? About how their planned dates can change, and how the releases get moved around on the calendar for all sorts of reasons.
According to The Rumor Mill
at The Digital Bits website, the final DVD box set for The X-Files
is the latest target of this rescheduling. Although The Bits didn't address the issue of the "Spring 2004" date on the last set's insert, they do have this to say:
If you're a fan of Chris Carter TV series, you'll be thrilled to know that 20th Century Fox will wrap up the adventures of Mulder and Scully on DVD in November, with The X-Files: The Complete Ninth Season.
November: exactly a year after the release of the penultimate season, and six months later than previously expected. Well, that's bad news, but the information from The Digital Bits tends to be pretty good, so we trust 'em. Or...do we?
As Agent Mulder is very fond of saying, "Trust No One." We have every intention of finding out what the hold-up is. We intend to blow the lid off of this release date caper, and no shadowy figures are going to stop us! The truth about this release is out there. Stay tuned, and we'll get back to you (hopefully sooner rather than later) with the details of this conspiracy to keep The X-Files
