Earlier this month Universal formally
announced the
September 8th DVD release of
Worst Week - The Complete Series. The item's been up for pre-order at Amazon (see button link below) for over two months now (even before the studio announcement), and Amazon has been showing some temp art taken from CBS TV's promo campaign for the show. That shot depicts the main character on a park bench, while various "bad luck" things are happening to him at the same time (his ice cream scoop dropping in the girl's lap, a thrown football coming toward his head, a "wet paint" sign on the bench, etc.). Serene, yet absurdly funny. But it was not the actual DVD box.
By comparison, the official package art Universal has now distributed to retailers this morning for
Worst Week is fairly "in-your-face"! Check out the "Monday" image of the show's main character, outdoors, in nothing but what appears to be a green diaper. And the "Tuesday" picture of the same guy, with breast pumps affixed to his chest. That's certainly not the kind of DVD box art you often see in your store for a mainstream release, eh? But it obviously uses screen shots from the actual episodes, so it's almost certainly a fair representation of the program that stars Kyle Bornheimer, Erinn Hayes, Nancy Lenehan (
My Name is Earl) and Kurtwood Smith (
That '70s Show). And, hey...my son (11) thinks it looks funny! Check it out:
