Last February we added a listing for
World Poker Tour - Season 1, an 8-DVD set available at the time only directly through the internet (Amazon sells a slightly different 5-DVD version). Interest was high enough, but the lack of in-store availability upon release was regretable to consumers.
This time around, however, the Shout! Factory is getting involved, and according to an e-mail newsletter they recently sent around, the 2nd season of the popular poker series is coming to DVD in the first quarter of the new year:
Shuffle Up And Deal! That's our favorite new expression here at Shout! - well, new for some of us. Others were more smugly already in the know, but we're catching on and loving it. It's all about Texas Hold 'Em and, more importantly, the World Poker Tour - Season Two, which we will be released as an 8-DVD set in March. All your favorite players from the Travel Channel phenom are here, as is the lovely Ms. Shana Hiatt. As they say at the table, we have "the nuts" (that is, a great hand).
The Shout! Factory releases are generally available in stores, so that's great news for fans who don't want to send off for this. We're not sure if Season 1 is available in stores yet, or if it's still only offered by send-away (I haven't spotted it on shelves personally). We'll try to get an update on that, and add it to our report when we follow up with Shout!'s details about the 2nd season release. Stay tuned.
