Back in October of last year we reported that Mill Creek Entertainment had obtained the license to release Women of the House - The Complete Series on DVD. It was to be a 3-disc set starring Delta Burke (as "Suzanne Sugarbaker," as this show was a Designing Women spin-off), Teri Garr and Patricia Heaton. A vice president at Mill Creek was quoted as saying in an interview to expect the title in May 2011...which is next month. Since the DVD title hadn't been solicited to retailers, we followed up with Mill Creek and asked about this item's status. Unfortunately, the reply isn't good news for fans: "The official status regarding Women of the House is that the release has been permanently removed from Mill Creek Entertainment's release schedule; issues surrounding the source material delivery resulted in a termination of the entire deal." It is unclear what the reason was for non-delivery (hopefully those masters haven't been lost!), but what is clear is that Mill Creek cannot make DVDs if they don't have the actual episodes. If something ever changes with this title in the future, we'll be sure to let you know. But for now it seems this one will just have to go back into limbo for the time being.
