OCB Agent Vincent Terranova (Ken Wahl) is assigned to investigate assassin Roger Lococco (William Russ). What neither Vinnie or his superiors suspect is that Lococco is working for international arms and drug dealer Mel Profitt (Kevin Spacey). More importantly, Lococco is carrying out a covert and highly illegal assignment for an errant branch of the CIA to overthrow a third world nation. As the Profitt Arc unfolds, Vinnie finds himself drawn even deeper into a complex and bizarre world beyond anything he has ever experienced. At the same time, he is fighting his growing feelings for Mel's beautiful sister, Susan (Joan Severance), and finds himself in the midst of a deadly triangle between himself, Susan and Mel. Now Vinnie is fighting for his life at the hands of Mel Profitt as well as the American government when he threatens Lococco's secret mission.

This 4 DVD set contains 12 episodes (11 episodes in the Profitt Arc and 1 stand-alone episode. The set features commentary on "Player to be Named Now" by Ken Wahl as well as interviews with Stephen J. Cannell, David Burke, Kevin Spacey, Joan Severance, William Russ and Elsa Raven. This set is sporting improved audio (I guess people felt the same way as I did about the 5.1 mix on the first set) and a lower price of $59.99. If you haven't picked up the Sonny Steelgrave set, the price of that has also been reduced to $59.99. The set will be hitting the street on December 30th, just in time to ring in the new year.

Also good to know is the heads-up on the remaining box sets planned for Wiseguy. While no release dates have been given, we at least know what's going to be on each of these sets:

  • Third Box Set: White Supremecy and Garment Business - "Vinnie resigns from the OCB and returns to his old neighborhood only to find out that a radical white supremecy group is trying to rally support." and "The OCB assigns Vinnie and agent John Henry Raglin to go undercover as garment security consultants to save a father-son clothing business from mob boss Pinzolo."

  • Fourth Box Set: Turf Wars/Blood Money - "Vinnie's stepfather wants to elevate Vinnie as his right hand in a New York mob family." and "Called to Washington D.C., Vinnie becomes part of The National Security Commission to reinvestigate a suspected counterfeit ring."

  • Fifth Box Set: Sanctuary, Public Poison, and Cuban Drug Cartel - "Vinnie puts on a new uniform when he infiltrates the police department of a small mining town of Lynchboro."; "Vinnie seeks solace in a Catholic church in Seattle following the disturbing investigation of a small town serial killer." and "When Vinnie is kidnapped by South American gun-runners, the OCB believes he has been acting as a supplier and it is up to Vinnie's boss to clear his name."

  • Sixth Box Set: Requiem for a Mobster - "Vinnie investigates the music business, making a record with a fading star and butting heads with a powerful and egotistical label executive."
