The BBC America Shop online has listed a
July 1st release of the 2008 documentary
Wild China, a 6-part joint production of the BBC Natural History Unit and China Central Television (CCTV) that was
first announced back in 2006. The episodes are "The Great Rice Bowl", "The Forests of Shangri La", "Tibet", "Beyond the Great Wall", "Land of the Dragon" and "Crowded Coasts".
Each 50-minute installment was shot entirely in high definition, so the 2-disc release will be available in Blu-ray Disc ($39.98 SRP) as well as standard DVD ($29.98 SRP). Both will include a bonus Making-Of Featurette called "Hunting Dragon". Subtitles will be in English for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired, and in Traditional Mandarin Chinese as well.
