Scooby-Doo fans are looking forward to the second live-action film,
Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, which hits theaters March 26th. To help stir up excitement, Warner Home Video is prepping another DVD release of this "monster" of a TV show franchise.
This time out they're going for
What's New, Scooby-Doo? Volume 2 - Safari, So Goodi!. The second DVD for the newest
Scooby series will consist of 4 episodes:
- SAFARI, SO GOODI! Concerned about the region's diminishing animal population, Velma takes the gang to East Africa for a video safari. Once there, they learn the animals aren't just disappearing--they're being replaced by shape-shifting jungle demons!
- ROLLER GHOSTER RIDE The gang prepares for a day of adventure at Thrillrides. But fun turns to danger and mystery when they encounter a series of "accidental" malfunctions on the park's attractions.
- IT'S MEAN, IT'S GREEN, IT'S THE MYSTERY MACHINE The Mystery Machine becomes a mystery itself when it suddenly seems to have a mind of its own.
- RIVA RAS REGAS The gang's trip to Las Vegas for a pop concert turns into a ghost hunt when the specter of Rufus Raucous, a masked magician thought to be dead, wreaks havoc in the theater.
The DVD will hit stores on March 9th, giving kids two-and-a-half weeks to pick it up before the new film hits cinemas. Fans who grab it will find that it contains "movie cash" good for up to $6.50 off a child's pass to see
Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed at theaters. The DVD will have a list price of $19.97. Here's Warner's official cover art for this:
Besides four episodes of fun with the Mystery Inc. gang, the DVD also features a theatrical trailer for the new film, a lesson from Velma on how to translate "Scooby Talk," and a trip map of Africa, Las Vegas, and other fun places that the gang has visited. Jinkies!
Video is 1.33:1 aspect ratio, and sound is in English Stereo with closed captioning for the hearing impaired. English, French, and Spanish subtitles are included as well. Running time is 85 minutes.
Don't wait too long to catch up with Scooby, Shaggy, Fred, Velma, and Daphne. Because the third release of
What's New, Scooby-Doo? is already in-the-works. Look for
Volume 3: Lights! Camera! Mayhem! soon. Stay tuned for more news about that.
