The Weird Al Show - Al Provides Weird Cover Art For August DVD Release Of His Saturday Morning Series

Posted by David Lambert
Back in early January, we passed along info that Weird Al Yankovic had posted info to his website about an upcoming DVD release of his short-lived television series, The Weird Al Show. He stated that all 13 episodes of the CBS Saturday morning program would be released later this year from Shout! Factory.

We later found out, thanks to a retailer listing online, that the exact release date is August 15th, with a $34.95 SRP for a 3-disc set. That retailer is DVDPlanet, by the way. We know a lot of you prefer to buy from Amazon instead, but the listing there just reflects the date, and doesn't have pricing info or a link set up yet to actual prepurchase it. As of this writing, anyway...we're sure Amazon will finish setting up that listing soon.

Several of our readers, starting with Stephen Staver, have written in since late Friday afternoon to tell us that Weird Al's official website has been updated with the cover art for this set. We appreciate all the e-mails, and we're sorry that we've had so much news to post that we're only now just getting to it. Here's a look at that highly weird cover:
