Back in mid-June, Paramount and PBS
announced their
October 2nd plans to release the DVDs for the upcoming Ken Burns mini-series,
The War, a 7-part feature which examines the ways that the lives of all Americans were touched by events during World War II. The show airs on PBS in September, and comes out a few weeks later on a 6-DVD set. Keith David (
Armageddon, Gargoyles, ER) narrates, and participants include Tom Hanks, Adam Arkin, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Wahlberg and Eli Wallach.
The DVD will be in Anamorphic Widescreen, with Dolby Digital English 5.1 Surround sound (and an alternate English 2.0 Surround track), English Subtitles and these extras:
