Industry rumors have reached our ears this morning that Warner Home Entertainment has decided on the next couple of Hanna Barbera Collection sets, and one of them is 1962's
Wally Gator series. It features the animated alligator whose theme song says "he's the greatest perculator when he really starts to romp; there has never been a greater operator in the swamp". We understand that there were two other cartoons also in the mix with each half-hour episode:
Touche' Turtle and
Lippy The Lion.
Daws Butler was the voice star of
Wally Gator, and Don Messick was there, too. We have no idea yet when this is scheduled; at this time please consider this to be a rumor as it is not officially announced by the studio. However, our source indicates that this title and the other one (
Quick Draw McGraw) were mentioned among a series of briefs with a ton of people in the room (more than 30), so it's not like these supposedly seemed to be a big secret. We're glad to know it, and we're sure you are as well! Stay tuned and we'll have more info for you as developments occur.
