Fans have vocally been asking us for info about when CBS DVD and distributor Paramount Home Entertainment might release Walker, Texas Ranger - The Complete 7th Season on home video. Especially as it's the last season of the show that needs to be on DVD. Some fans reckon that the series had "9 seasons," because the first three episodes of the program's run were broadcast from April 21 to May 1 of 1993 ("season one"), and then the next batch began airing in September of 1993 ("season two"). However, in June 2006, CBS/Paramount released all of those episodes together in a single set titled "Walker, Texas Ranger - The Complete 1st Season"...meaning that the studio forces counting all of those as one group in an "8 season" run. And that collection wasn't even the first season set from this Chuck Norris program to hit the market: a year prior to that saw CBS and Paramount's release of Walker, Texas Ranger - The Final Season (four years after that series finale aired).
So we're seen the home video release of the "8th" (and last) season, then the DVD releases of Season "1" through "6." Now the final one needed on DVD, Walker, Texas Ranger - The Complete 7th Season, will come home on March 9th, a week and a half before springtime officially starts. This 1081 minute set will be presented in full screen video, English Stereo Surround audio, and with closed captioning. Guests include Erik Estrada, Daniel Dae Kim, Mako, M.C. Gainey and Tom Bosley, among others. Further details, along with package art, haven't been provided yet. But we'll bring those to you once they're available, so stay tuned.
And BEFORE anybody asks: no, nothing has been mentioned (or is known) about the 2005 post-series telefilm "Trial By Fire" on DVD. OR the short-lived spin-off series Sons of Thunder on DVD. If we EVER do find out something about those items coming to DVD, we'll certainly let you all know.
