Voltron fans! The awesome folks at Media Blasters have kindly sent over to us this afternoon a detailed update on the first DVD release of the "Lion Force" series! We've been calling this release simply "Set 1", but now they tell us the final title that the initial package will go by:
Voltron: Defender of the Universe - Collection 1: Blue Lion.
As we know, it arrives on
September 26th at a $39.95 SRP, and you can
pre-order it from Amazon.com for $27.99 right away! What will you get? Here is the main text of the e-mail I got earlier from Media Blasters, with all the details:
Here's some updated info for you regarding our first VOLTRON release. The first volume will be called VOLTRON COLLECTION ONE: BLUE LION. It will contain three discs and will consist of Episodes 1-15 and Special Features. To see how it'll break down and what the special features will be, see below. To see a preview of what the special molded tin (yet stackable with
subsequent volumes!) will look like, [see] below. There will
be an insert booklet that will provide episode synopses as well as original
air dates. To see the cover of this insert, [see further down].
Everything's moving forward but, as you might imagine, it's a lot of work.
The editors are re-assembling the episodes frame-by-frame from the best
available sources (mostly from original Japanese film negatives), and video
and audio imperfections are being wiped clean wherever possible. It's going
to be quite a set!
