A couple of weeks ago we
showed off the package art, front and rear, for
Voltron: Defender of the Universe - Collection 6: Air Team, the first of three "Vehicle Force" releases coming from Media Blasters. Now we've got new word on this
September 30th release, including word about the packaging which might disappoint some of the fans out there: this 3-disc set will NOT be coming in a tin, like the previous "Lion Force" releases did.
Instead the outer casing will be a design which is described as a "jewelry box" type of package. Inside will be a digi-pak cardboard fold such as we've seen inside the "Lion Force" tins. And on the discs themselves, we'll see 18 episodes running 450 minutes, plus extras that include the Original Pilot, a featurette titled "Lion VS Vehicle: The Fans Sound Off," trailers and more. You can pre-order this at Amazon using the button link below, where the current going rate (subject to change at Amazon's discretion) is $23.99 after discount. Or you can purchase it through the online store at Voltron.com, where it's currently going for $36.99, but you get a "Vehicle Voltron is Better!" t-shirt along with it.
And we keep protesting that we're not covering the
GoLion releases here, because they fall into the "anime" category and we don't cover that, yet we keep finding excuses to mention the Japanese show that was the source of all things
Voltron. In this case our excuse is to mention that Amazon has just put
Beast King GoLion - Vol. 3 up for pre-order, with a November 25th ship date.
