For the past few months we've been
reporting that
Voltron: Defender of the Universe - Collection 7: Land Team is coming your way on January 13th, which is this coming Tuesday. That release date came from retailers including
Amazon.com,
DVDEmpire.com, CircuitCity.com and Rightstuf.com, all of whom continue to show that date. The bad news is that this date has been incorrect the entire time!
The actual release date, shown by pretty much every other retailer out there, is
January 27th. We've confirmed this info with World Events Productions and Media Blasters, so we're 100% sure of the info this time. Our thanks to reader Matt Savelkoul for bringing it to our attention. It's a bummer to have to wait, but it's just two weeks. We regret any confusion caused by not getting the straight story on this sooner. The online store at Voltron.com has had the right date all along, so we should have clued in. They also have an exclusive deal to get a t-shirt along with the
Volume 7 set if you pre-order now (although at a slightly higher cost than DVDEmpire or Amazon), so check it out if you're interested.
A few weeks ago we also
let you know that
Voltron: Defender of the Universe - Collection 8: Sea Team - the final release in the series - will be arriving on
March 31st. We've double-checked that date with WEP and MB, and we're told that this represents the accurate schedule as of right now (of course, the DVD industry being what it is, release dates could always be subject to possible changes). The studios were nice enough to send over our first look at the cover art for the
Volume 8 set, and we've got it for you below. Go Aqua Fighter Group!
