The Galaxy Alliance's home planets have become overcrowded, and a fleet of explorers has been sent to search for new planets to colonize. Along the way, they attract the attention of the evil Drule Empire, long engaged in an ongoing war against the Alliance, and the Drules proceed to interfere in the mission of the explorers and the colonists. Since the Voltron of Planet Arus was too far away to help the explorers, a totally new Voltron is constructed to battle the Drule threat.
Media Blasters and World Events Productions have sent out the package art this morning for
Voltron: Defender of the Universe - Collection 6: Air Team on DVD! Yes, the words "Air Team" are now officially part of the title, representing the Strato Fighter Group (Jeff, Rocky, Wolo, Ginger and Pidge's brother Chip), which makes up a portion of
Vehicle Force Voltron. As we
reported two months ago today, this release arrives on
September 30th, at a cost of $34.99 for 3 discs running 450 minutes. Below is the front and rear of the package.
Also, we keep saying how we don't talk about anime here, so we're not covering the original Japanese version releases of these shows. But, even though I'll get kicked for mentioning it, I can't help but slip in a reminder to folks that last Tuesday saw the release of
Beast King GoLion - Volume 2 on DVD, which is where we got Lion Force from...so be sure to get it, if you're interested!
Also,
Variety had an interesting
story yesterday about the status of the upcoming big-screen
Voltron film, so be sure to check that out as well. Now, here's that Vehicle Force package art:
