As we've
been reporting, next Tuesday, September 30th was supposed to see the release of
Voltron: Defender of the Universe - Collection 6: Air Team, the first of three sets for the "Vehicle Force"
Voltron episodes. It was also
recently announced that the second "Vehicle Force" set,
Voltron: Defender of the Universe - Collection 7, would arrive on December 23rd. Minutes ago, however, we received word that both titles have been delayed.
Due to production issues, the
Collection 6: Air Team package, containing episodes 73-90, is going to be rescheduled to take the release slot formerly held by the 7th set:
December 23rd. As a result,
Collection 7, containing episodes 91-108, is being pushed back into 2009. The specific new release date has not yet been finalized, but Media Blasters is hopeful to make it happen in
January, 2009.
This is brand-new information that has just been released, and so most online retailer listings have not yet been updated. Any pre-orders that you've already placed ought to be okay, though; they'll just be shipped according to the new schedule. Yes, that should go for
Collection 7, too, even though it doesn't have a new street date yet. Stay tuned and we'll bring you that date, along with updates about anything else, just as soon as we can!
