Veronica Mars - Go Back To Mars This Summer With The 2nd Season Set!

Posted by David Lambert
News GraphicIn the wealthy seaside community of Neptune, California, the rich and powerful make the rules. Unfortunately for them, there's Veronica Mars, a smart, fearless 17-year-old apprentice private investigator. In season two, the Mars family finds themselves embroiled in another season-long mystery hitting closer to home, following a new local tragedy. Meanwhile, after a summer of surprises and sordid murder trials, Logan and best friend Duncan Kane find themselves at odds, while Veronica must deal with her increasingly complicated romantic life and a whole new school year with familiar and surprising fresh faces.

Warner Home Video is preparing to announce Veronica Mars - The Complete 2nd Season! The release date is August 15th 22nd, as a 22-episode set that goes for $59.98 SRP (the release date is tied to the season 3 premiere on the CW*). Also look for amazing extras that include a behind-the-scenes featurette, a gag reel and deleted scenes. Stay tuned for additional details and full-sized cover art!

*We've had a number of people email to ask us where the information about the third season came from since no pickup has been announced. A couple people thought we made it up (silly people), but most of you know we wouldn't do that. The information came from a retailer who kindly forwarded the announcement email he received from Warner Bros. The exact wording used was "Release timing tied to Season Three premiere on the CW." It's likely the people at Warner Bros Home Video have some advanced knowledge that the show was picked up for the new network, but we'll have to wait until the upfronts for it to be confirmed. Most people following TV-on-DVD releases know that the studios like to leave a few weeks between the release of a season set and the premiere of the next season so fans have a chance to catch up; The CW won't even be broadcasting until early September.
