Late last week the folks at IGN posted word
about The Venture Bros. - Season 3
coming to home video. Apparently this is their own exclusive story, because the title hasn't been announced by the folks at [adult swim], Cartoon Network or Warner Home Video...at least as far as we can see! So let's start by giving credit to them for the info (it wouldn't be fair to do anything else, after all), and also to Pete Nehra, our reader who sent us the heads-up about their post!
According to IGN's story, The Venture Bros. - Season 3
will arrive on both DVD and - for the first time ever - on high definition Blu-ray Disc as well. They've provided package art for each one, and fans of old-school videogame systems will quickly recognize that the studio is styling these after the box designs for the old Atari VCS (a.k.a. "Atari 2600") video game system. We've got some thumbnails of them here; head on over to IGN for the full-sized versions:
These both will be available day-and-date on March 24th, at a cost of $29.98 SRP for the 2-disc DVD version, and a cost of $44.98 SRP for the 2-disc BD version. Running time is 286 minutes for 13 episodes, delivered in an uncensored fashion. Both releases will have extras in the form of Deleted Scenes and Commentary Tracks, IGN says, plus the Blu-ray release will also have a bonus CD soundtrack of 20 tracks from the show's third season.
Stay tuned and we'll bring you more about these releases once the studio makes an official general announcement to retailers and/or to the press!
